Interspective Media is an interactive Twitter fed map, providing news sources from professional and citizen journalists. What perspective will you discover?

Interspective Media

Interspective allows you to experience a humanising aspect of media. By providing news sources from professional and citizen journalists. As well as showing geo-located hashtags, tweets, media uploads and trends on an interactive map.

You can now gain an in-depth perspective of crisis reporting, in real-time.

What perspective will you discover?

Problem

The problem identified was that of mainstream media in the role of crisis reporting.

Particularly in how mainstream media were reporting certain events in relation to minorities. And in turn how recent mobile technology was allowing minorities to report crisis events as front-line citizen journalists. In most cases, giving them a voice that was otherwise not there.

Mainstream media were becoming more reliant on citizen journalists to provide stories. And audiences were wanting more raw, real-time news.

To provide an unbiased account from both sides, as well as giving a voice to those who needed it, a design solution was needed.

Solution

The solution was to design and develop an interactive map. An interactive map that would allow audiences to discover breaking stories from around the world.

The design solution would include: geo-located hashtags, tweets, media uploads and trends from Twitter. As well as news stories based on the current map location, allowing users to compare stories.

Included in the conversation, in real-time, audiences would then see updates from professional and citizen journalists.
